Come utilizzare i pin GPIO di un Raspberry Pi Zero da una Workstation Fedora

Il Raspberry Pi Zero fornisce una funzionalità particolare, piuttosto utile in alcuni casi: in pratica lo si può trasformare in un dispositivo USB che mette a disposizione le GPIO al PC a cui è collegato. Ossia possiamo fare uso delle GPIO da un programma che gira sul PC. Per fare questo non abbiamo bisogno di una scheda SD e nemmeno di un alimentatore: basta collegare il Raspberry Pi Zero alla porta USB e utilizzare il software GPIO Expander installato sul PC.

GPIO Expander è un software che gira su Linux, ma leggendo sul sito della Raspberry Pi Foundation, c'è poca chiarezza: sembra quasi che possa funzionare solo con la distribuzione Raspberry Pi Desktop o successivamente, leggendo in giro per la rete, solo su distribuzioni basate su Debian, tipo Ubuntu.
